MARVEL'S AVENGERS
In 2017, I had an amazing opportunity to work on what would eventually become the highest-grossing film of all-time worldwide. Although my contribution was small compared to other concept artists and designers, It was an honor to be a part of this project and working with the prop master to design this concept. I was asked to design a long range energy sci-fi rifle and make it look like it belongs from outer space/another alien race.
Most importantly, I needed to utilize my industrial design background to design the components and how it would be made from a series of rapid prototyping methods(3D printing, molding, etc) and standard parts. When I first started working on this, there was already some art done by the super talented artists from Marvel. Both that and the brief served as the foundation and starting point/inspiration for the work I did when creating the final design. The overall aesthetic is a combination of black vibranium looking metal with gold accents powered by energy cartridges.

The concept was modeled with a series of hardsurface methods with different applications. This is to ensure the final model works seamlessly in the 3D printing workflow and reduces any potential issues in the production pipeline.
